Practical consequences of CC BY-SA 4.0.

Making the work available under the public license conditions of CC BY-SA 4.0 International has, among other things, the following practical copyright consequences:

RIGHTS of user:

  • share - ie reproduce, print (for example: using P2P networks, uploading nafile-hosting servers or publishing your own website) to the work,
  • process (eg translate) to the work,
  • even for commercial purposes.

Users OBLIGATION:

  • State the origin of the work, eg. state the author, title, source (eg. Journal), or in the form chosen by the author and a reference to the license terms of CC BY-SA 4.0 International
  • The acronym TASL can be used to better remember the information that needs to be provided
  • T – title,
  • A – author (author, eg. holder of rights),
  • S – source,
  • L – license – link to the full text of the public license conditions of CC BY-SA 4.0. – a printed URL must also be included in printed publications.
  • Maintain the license.

Your work (article):

  • Will always be available to others -> even newly created content (created by creative process of the original work) cannot be “unavailable” into the standard copyright protection mechanism, it will always have to be available under CC BY-SA 4.0 International.
  • Can be uploaded to e-learning.
  • Can be stored in professional and institutional repositories in the form of the so-called “publisher's edition”, which means in the version after reviews, including final formatting and corrections.
  • Can also be used for commercial purposes.
  • No additional restrictions – You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
